Android Widgets (Not the Corona Widget library!)

Forgive me if I have overlooked a post on this before, however due to the extensive talk of Widgets 2.0, my searches fail.

I’m looking to find some information regarding Android Widgets. i.e. Toggling the Flashlight from a flashlight app or latest Tweets from the Twitter widget.

Is this possible to build within Corona?

I’ve visited the Android Developers site here: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/appwidgets/index.html however, I’m unsure how this would manifest itself within Corona.

Any information on the matter is appreciated. Pointing me to the proper forum or post is also appreciated.

Things like that are a native feature and not something supported by Corona SDK.  Due to their unique nature, they are not practical to add to a cross-platform type application like Corona SDK.
