Animal Lost ( Promo Codes)

Hi Everyone!

After seeing some great Corona SDK demos I wanted to try it myself. I’m a designer with very little previous programming experience so it was a challenge, but after 200 hours of hard work I had managed to put together my first iPad game: Animal Lost.

I want to thank the Corona staff for creating such a great product and this great community for being so helpful! I couldn’t have made it without the support of this forum!

Animal Lost is an iPad game designed especially for small children. Here are some promo codes for you guys! It hasn’t been tested with IOS 3.x so if any of you have a chance to do that, I would be grateful! If you take a promo code, please let everyone know.

I grabbed NYTYL7R7AA4X. Your screen shots look great. [import]uid: 47723 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35229[/import]

polygonblog, nice job! It has a nice carefree fun feel to it. Some of your characters have an almost real rubber look to them. The dino is very cute when it looks at you and blinks. I would think the little ones would really enjoy this game. I personally like the big fish a lot, how it gracefully jumps and rotates, and the re-entry feels like it is really diving down into and below the water.
Do you use the Director Class to transition between screens? [import]uid: 47723 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35583[/import]

Thank you flyingaudio for the detailed feedback! I was thinking about using the director class but I didn’t. Programming is very new to me and for some reason it felt easier to do the screen transitions by myself. I guess it was because I didn’t understand everything that was going on with the director class, but I did understand how to move and remove groups.

very nice, I don’t have an IPAD or I would give it a try. What program did you use to create your graphics? [import]uid: 50005 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35614[/import]

Thanks! I used 3ds Max and Photoshop. [import]uid: 13507 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35629[/import]

Those are lovely graphics, what’s the game about? [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35822[/import]

You find animals, a little smaller than Dino, that are hidden thought the pages, and don’t get revealed until you tap on certain things. Then you carry them back to the first page and go find and collect more. In you search, interesting things happen as you tap on things. [import]uid: 47723 topic_id: 9666 reply_id: 35885[/import]

Very nice, I like it a bunch - can you tell me how you did the puzzle game.

We are working on a couple kids books and would also like to add a puzzle game like that.

Thanks
