Animations?

How did the creators of games like Cannon Cat make the animations of the game? Are there programs for making animations? [import]uid: 27760 topic_id: 30499 reply_id: 330499[/import]

well, firstly for static images I would go with illustrator, photoshop and fireworks.
I move between them all as each provides me with a set of features I like to work with.

As for movement, I started with flash over 10 years ago, I find the timeline very intuitive but again it is personal preference.
I after creating a character I will export it as a sprite sheet, fireworks and flash are capable in producing such in a few clicks.

I am new to Corona and app development but I am experienced web designer/developer from the early days of acoustic couplers and compuserve.

It helps to be creative but you can draw on ideas from all over the place not just the internet. Everyday life throws up new possibilites.
One thing though, don’t get dis-heartened with your first artwork attempts by comparing them to professional studios with in house design teams. Practice makes perfect.

If your serious about artwork get yourself a tablet, I use a wacom cintiq; there are much cheaper alternatives from wacom and a good used market exists.

You will find a graphics tablet will save you lots of pain, using a mouse to draw and trace is a nightmare; seriously once you’ve used one to create a graphic you will never look back !

Don’t forget you-tube for tutorials, some from adobe are very good, they will quickly get you producing descent graphics by the use of filters and pre made plugins.

good luck [import]uid: 127675 topic_id: 30499 reply_id: 122187[/import]

Cannon Cat was mostly done in Flash and used the sprite_loq tool to convert the animations to Corona SDK.
