Ansca for real ! Where is the ROADMAP !

we have asked you a thousand times and we have not seen a roadmap from you guys.

Really? You guys are a bunch of nerds, geeks that hide under the thick glasses and pocket protectors.

For how many times do *we* have to scream out of our lungs to you guys and prod you and jab you and plead with you about the roadmap?

Are you guys hiding something? Are you guys really committed to your community?

You guys are --------- ********** WAIT ****************** I am from Ansca, what am I talking about !

The road map is here

http://www.anscamobile.com/corona/roadmap/

We will continue to drill down further, and we will try to add a “like”/no like" button and poll.

In the meantime, here you can see where we are headed.

Enjoy and thanks for your patience.

jajaja. I almost thought it was me, the other Carlos. (there’s only two in this community?)
Thanks, any words on when the next release would be? [import]uid: 10426 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11309[/import]

Due to the holidays and what not, we are targeting the next release to be June of 2012.

Ok, after all of you recovered from your mild-heart attack I just induced, we are scheduled to release first or second week of December.

Thanksgiving is next week and most of the team will be flying out to be with families to give thanks, and that is understandable. But we expect a release as soon as we all convene in December and release it right before the x-mas break.

Carlos.

Ha I got a road map last week from the convenience store [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11344[/import]

Quick, someone duplicate that thing because ANSCA tends to loose their roadmap. Or a bloody evil ninja will steel it  [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11351[/import]

Ahh, I see. No enhancement of the Openfeint part or mentioning it will come to Android. That is just sad. :-/ [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11352[/import]

Carlos,

Let me express some concerns about the current Release Policy.

If I recall it right, you had released the previous GE version back at early September. So there is 3+ months from early September to mid December. This time is about 10% of the AppStore life so far…

In the upcoming release logs, I don’t see any fixes about some really important bugs or lack of API depth that both significantly reduce Corona “can-do” range of apps.

Examples: Full pause/resume, device resolution detection, async http, bitmap manipulation.

This means that if you are not going to silently provide solutions for that problems in the December release, we may have to wait 2-3 more months for the second next release, which is optimistically projected for February+ 2011.

So, there is a strong possibility to see a lack of core mini-features to be filled with a delay of about 6+ months (September to February), which is about 20% of the AppStore life! You also know, probably better than me, that 6 months is a full trend cycle for the AppStore. Games that can sell like crazy today, may be proved a total disaster after 6 months.

Synopsis: Please, reconsider your Bug Fixing and Core-API Improvement Policy, introducing monthly sub-releases and allocating more resources on this part of the project.

Magenda

Bug Fixing is above all the #1 priority and I will make sure that we expose a database for bug tracking from external bugs submitted by our users, and communicate that as well.

Just as I published the roadmap, we will also put up an external bug base for you guys and track and see what is happening with the bugs. Better than what we have or even the one we had…

And we will restore our insanity by releasing more often, about every month…

One of the policies that I am also thinking, is putting in your hands latest- out of the oven- features, but release them to you guys as “alpha”… Or perhaps, give you access to our daily builds… Not sure what route, but this is what I am thinking … If you guys have suggestions… you know my e-mail.

And in case you don’t is “billgates@micro…” JK!!! it is cicaza@anscamobile.com and twitter at twitter.com/carlosicaza

Another vote for Android OpenFeint parity. Having parallel support for features available on both Android and iOS = good. It means less specialized code and support issues. [import]uid: 1560 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11371[/import]

May I also suggest that some kind of localization support would be worth adding to the list? There’s a big market outside the English-speaking world. [import]uid: 1560 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11414[/import]

Where is Game Center???

// red. [import]uid: 7143 topic_id: 3712 reply_id: 11577[/import]

Badges? Badges?

We no need no stinking badges?

Oh wait, you mean Game Center.

What is that?

Will be up on the roadmap along with other goodies by Wednesday I hope.
