Ansca Mobile server is choking on builds?

I get this:

“/kWSHTTPResponseMessage” = {url = http://developer.anscamobile.com/services/xmlrpc; status = HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable};
“/kWSResultIsFault” = 1;

when I try to build for a dev device. Any ideas?

Could somebody go wake up the hamsters powering the Ansca XMLRPC server, please?

I think it’s Robert Nay’s fault. :wink:

Carlos posted a message earlier today saying the servers were taking a beating but that they were monitoring them very closely, so I’d assume if there’s a problem (like you have) they’ll pound it into submission quickly.

There are many kind of problems to have, and one of them is when too many people want your software. *sigh* I keep dreaming for that kind of problem.

PS - Okay, I know it can still be bad for a company but you have to admit it beats hearing crickets chirp when you launch a product. [import]uid: 9440 topic_id: 5139 reply_id: 17007[/import]

First, congratulations to Carlos and the Corona team for getting the modern-day equivalent of being slashdotted.

My guess is everything - the build server, the API reference, this forum, and the downloads server - are all on the same server. Or they might be in different servers but traffic is passing through one single server that is becoming the bottleneck.

Ey Carlos, time to put the downloads server on a CDN! Also, isolate the build server from everything else, please. [import]uid: 7026 topic_id: 5139 reply_id: 17103[/import]

Morning Coffee at home

We have several servers that handle different loads – the www server is different (on a completely different offsite ) than the dev server and several components of the dev servers are on different racks… but the traffic spike is tantamount …

Thanks for slashdot modern-day comment … ABCNews…All Things D, Venture Beat, InformationWeek…

Nerve wrecking at times…

There are upgrades coming. There was a minor hickup with the build server last night, but I had it fixed in about 10 minutes.

Things are under control at the moment, but are still being watched quite closely.
