Any LÖVErs here

Hi.  I normally would not start a thread like this, but I’m trying to find users who are both

Corona developers and LÖVE users.

If you fit this category, and you wouldn’t mind having a discussion via email, please PM me here and I’ll exchange email addresses.  (Click that little envelope icon to the upper-right on this page).

Aside from finding individuals, why am I asking this question?

I want to grow our community.  One way  I see to do that, is to find what brings or brought current/prior LÖVE users here.

i.e. Answer the question, what were the pain points that Corona solved?

Whatever the case, this is not meant to be an open discussion of merits.  I don’t want to start a war or an inappropriate (as per forums guidelines) discussion.

Someone mentioned Corona is superior for creating mobile apps. I, on the other hand, am curious if the above mentioned engine is a good alternative for somebody NOT interested in publishing on the mobile platforms and/or in-game advertisement.

It’s on my To Do list to explore on my own but any tips (via PM) in that direction are more than welcome.

PS. My post doesn’t seem too appropriate either (for bot the forum and this thread) so I apologise and won’t be offended at all if it’s removed.

Again straying away slightly from RG’s intention (having explored what Love2D has to offer but not really used it in anger) I’d say Corona has it beaten all ends up - Mobile and Desktop, Gaming and Enterprise.

Except where it really counts for the long-term viability of any platform - user awareness and acquisition.

Remember guys, not a better versus worse talk.

This is a, “I used or use both and this is why I decided to use Corona in the end or why I use it for X versus Y.”

Also, mostly meant to be PM to keep the thread from straying from Forums rules.

Hi,

PM’d a brain dump.

Teasing us…

General ramblings. Not much important beyond my opinion that Corona is for developers that are actually interested in releasing games beyond hobbyist status. The issue surrounding SEO really has nothing to do with the abilities of “that” engine.

I’ll spare you the other 4-5 paragraphs.

Indeed. SEO is important though if you want more than four serious developers using your engine.
