Just wondered at what stage one can check if their game name is allowed i.e there is not already another game with this name? Is there a site that allows you to check if an iPhone game is taken or not? [import]uid: 7863 topic_id: 3131 reply_id: 303131[/import]
Search for it in iTunes, if there is no match it is available.I don´t think that you can reserve a name for a coming app.

Thanks Mike - that is really useful. I guess if the domain name is taken for the game name - it is a cause for concern too. I will be sure to avoid the letters “E D G E” - thanks for the heads up.
Not sure about good lawyer but I do have professional indemnity insurance so that should cover me a bit I hope. [import]uid: 7863 topic_id: 3131 reply_id: 9144[/import]
People can file for a TM. Be careful when you choose a name for your app. Google can also help you. If the name doesn’t come up, then it is also a plus point.
Anyway, there are sue happy people and companies out there. For an example, avoid anything with the word build by the letters E D G E in it.
There is this guy out there who sues everyone with a product who uses that word in a product/company name. Ahh, and have a good lawyer. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 3131 reply_id: 9142[/import]
