Anyone getting corruption errors on Nook

Hi all,

I did not resubmit a new version of my app to support the Nook HD yet, but…

Today I received 2 emails stating that the current version of my game displays the following message on current Nooks:

This application has encountered a Lua error or has been corrupted.

Has anyone seen this recently? What’s going on?

thanks! [import]uid: 114363 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 331712[/import]

I have got the same error on my samsung device. It says “This application has encountered a Lua error or has been corrupted.” right after starting up the app.

No clue what is going on. [import]uid: 7190 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 127105[/import]

This literally happened all of a sudden, on a live Nook app. App was on the store for weeks, and one day I received a bunch of emails stating that this error was popping up and my game is no longer playable. My customers are blaming me.

I’ve also been trying to submit a new version that will support the Nook HD devices and I am on my 5th submittal this week… the reviewers are also getting this message.

At this point, I have resorted to using a much older version of my app code and building with the latest SDK, which stinks, because now some features have been removed, and I have 2 code bases. I submitted yesterday, and so far I have not heard back. I will post an update when I do.

Funny thing… no other platform is displaying these errors. If I am lucky enough to get this latest build approved by the BN Store, I have no idea what I did to “fix” the problem. [import]uid: 114363 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 127120[/import]

Ok, i got my app running again.

I found an error (wrong file reading, my fault) witch could just come up on an device (not the simulator). But after getting rid of the error i still got the “This application has encountered a Lua error or has been corrupted.” message on my device (Nexus S).

In the next step i reseted the device completely. After reinstalling the app, everything was working again.

Any ideas what was wrong? [import]uid: 7190 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 127199[/import]

Hey guys - just checking in on this.

Most likely, you got those errors from Nook because older versions of Corona apps needed to get re-built to work with the new Nook devices. If you rebuilt with a recent build, you should be fine.

The complicating factor here is that Nook Developer was not doing a good job of messaging. So some people that had already submitted a newer app were getting rejection messages back - but those were for the OLD apps, not the new ones. I know - it’s confusing and I dont know why they did that. But I believe it is getting sorted out.

Are the 2 of you still having issues? [import]uid: 10668 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 127910[/import]

Thanks for checking!
Like i wrote in my last post i have no issues any more. [import]uid: 7190 topic_id: 31712 reply_id: 127921[/import]
