Anyone using or interested in AWS GameLift?

I’ve started working on a new Corona book on creating multiplayer and virtual world games using Corona.  I am considering using AWS GameLift as the server component.

This will obviously require a client side for GamelLift.

So my question(s):

Is there interest in this type of book?

Is anyone else using AWS GameLift?

What would you like to see in this type of book?

Thank you,

Dr. Brian Burton

Brian,

Well. You know I’m always interested in learning something new.

Let me know if you go down this road. I would be happy to collaborate and experiment with AWS GameLift.

For me, the biggest challenge of using any of the AWS products is learning to communicate with the service in a meaningful way from within my Corona App.

Specifically, while they (Amazon) have lots of AWS samples and APIs for Web and/or Native coding, I generally get completely stuck when trying to write the same usage tasks in pure-Lua w/ network.* calls, etc.

PS - While not wishing to raise any bad memories, this is why I loved Coronium: Pure Lua API on both client and server side.  Bam!

If there were a way to access some or all of the AWS GameLift featuers from Corona using a pure-Lua API or library that would be awesome.

PPS - I’ll be doing some reading to see what AWS GameLift looks like now.  Thanks for raising this idea!
