APK cannot be installed

Hi all,

Using a trial version of Corona SDK for Android (full for iOS). Android SDK is not installed at all.
Mac OS 10.7.5.
Tried with both JDK 6 (goes with Lion by default) and with JDK 7.
Problem: Cannot install any built APK on several devices (HTC Desire Android 2.2 ARM7, Samsung Nexus Android 4).

BTW, 3rd Party apps are allowed on the devices and USB Debug mode is also swithced on…
Looks like something is wrong with build process…

Pls help, as this is driving me crazy…) [import]uid: 180665 topic_id: 35224 reply_id: 335224[/import]

Hello @alexey2,
Do you still have Java 7 on your machine? It may cause signing issues on the APK. You’re developing solely on OSX, yes? Or also on Windows?

Hi Brent!

  1. Have tried on win today and installed well… thus this is a mac problem
  2. Now is JDK 7 here, but as I know by default Lion comes with Java 6 onboard thus should be working previously, but it wasn’t.

The idea I got today: maybe corona requires Java 6 x86 and I have x64 by default?

Btw, Now working on downgrading JDK back to 6. So any best practices are also more than welcome  [import]uid: 180665 topic_id: 35224 reply_id: 140235[/import]

Hi again!
This is very odd. Did you revert to JDK6 following this procedure suggested by Apple?

I think I am having a similar problem. Haven’t been able to solve it yet.

I’m having a similar problem, but only on certain devices. I was successful in installing upon my Samsung Galaxy tablet, but not my Tmobile Concord zte v768 phone.

When I try to install the app, it goes through the regular process of installing but simply says “Application not installed” at the end, with no further explanation. I have already changed the settings to allow installation of non-market apps. Any suggestions?

Hello @aaron34,

Does this phone meet the minimum processor requirements for Corona-built Android apps? Please see the “Notes” section on this guide:

Best regards,
