apktool and Corona APKs

Some time after build 840, apktool stopped working with Corona-produced APKs. It produces APKs that fail after installation, claiming Lua errors. So, I cannot use all those nice and nifty changes made in Corona after 840, at least not for Android/Kindle/Nook builds…

If I pinpoint for you guys exactly which build breaks apktool, will you do something about it? It will be a pain to install all those builds after 840 one by one and try the apktool on them, but I will do it if after I tell you which build it was you’d fix it… Plz? You need to talk to the author of the apktool because it’s not a Corona Labs product. We can’t be responsible for changes we make to CoronaSDK that break 3rd party tools. Sorry. [import]uid: 7559 topic_id: 30996 reply_id: 123925[/import]

Tom, the result is that any developer of kid’s apps for Android/Kindle/Nook/Samsung cannot use any Corona builds higher than 840. Either that or be exposed to paranoid one-star ratings of “This app is spying on my kid.”

@ mike470, you are 100% right. And after one-star rating they will delete your app. This means that even if you will remove that permission no one will come to change the vote. There are a lot of posts on forum where users requested to have the possibility to remove thar permission. [import]uid: 138389 topic_id: 30996 reply_id: 123934[/import]
