App Crashes on Launch on device <Error>: SecTrustEvaluate [leaf IssuerCommonName SubjectCommonName]

Recently I wanted to update an app using Corona (2016.2836) that has been published for some time, with the last update about 5 months ago. The updated app works without errors on the Corona simulator and the Xcode simulator. However, on a device running iOS 9.2.1 it crashes after the splash screen, showing the following errors in the XCode (7.2.1) console:

SpringBoard[48] <Error>:  SecTrustEvaluate  [leaf IssuerCommonName SubjectCommonName]

SpringBoard[48] <Error>:  SecTrustEvaluate  [leaf IssuerCommonName SubjectCommonName]

securityd[84] <Error>:  secTaskDiagnoseEntitlements MISSING keychain entitlements: no stored taskRef found

securityd[84] <Error>:  secTaskDiagnoseEntitlements MISSING keychain entitlements: no stored taskRef found

amfid[159] <Error>:  SecTrustEvaluate  [leaf IssuerCommonName SubjectCommonName]

I have tried builds with both adHoc and development provisioning profiles, as well with an adHoc distribution,  that I had used previously, with the same results.

I have tried one of these profiles to build another app and it works.

So, I don’t think that it has to do with the provisioning profiles, but instead with something in the code.

Any ideas?

Hi! Were you able to figure this out?

I’ve encountered the same issue after upgrading to Corona build 2016.2929.

I also tried going back to build 2761 and my app worked fine on my device. Anyone from Corona who can help?

Can you provide more information about the problem:

  1. What provisioning profiles are you using?

  2. What device are you trying to test on? What OS version is running there?

  3. What OS is your Mac using?

  4. What version of Xcode are you using?

Can you post your build.settings?

Thanks

Rob

It’s been a while. I believe these error messages had nothing to do with the crashing, but instead with a global variable that I had used. Insure that there are no global variables that may be causing the crash. The previous versions of Corona were probably more tolerant.

Hi Rob!

I’m using an iPhone 6 Plus running on iOS 9.3.3. I’m on OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 and my XCode version is 7.3. I also tested my app on an iPad Air 2 and it also crashes.

I don’t think there’s a problem with the provisioning profiles because whenever I go back to Corona build 2761, my app works fine. It only crashes if I use any of the recent daily builds. So far, I’ve tried both 2906 and 2929, both crashed on my device.

Note that I have not done any changes in my code, I just rebuilt using the latest Corona daily build.

Thanks i_i_i! I’ll figure out what’s up with mine and report back here for everyone to see.

Can you post your entire device console log from the beginning of starting your app until after it crashes please?

Thanks

Rob

As stated previously, I had a similar experience, but discovered that the error messages “<Error>: SecTrustEvaluate [leaf IssuerCommonName SubjectCommonName]” were unrelated to the app crashing. The reason the app crashed had to do with the use of global variables. Are you using any global variables? Global variables appear to have worked ok in builds from earlier versions of Corona, while in the recent versions they do not.

Here’s my log from when I launch my app on the device up to the time it crashes–

The thing is, whenever I revert back to Corona build 2761, my app works well on my device w/out changing a single line of code.

As per i_i_i’s suggestion above, what I tried to do was commented all my code on main.lua (to make sure there are no global vars) just to show a black screen whenever my app is run and it still crashes on the device.

Everything works well on the simulator. I’m using 2906 right now.

Thanks in advance Rob!
