App of the Week question

Are apps only eligible to be App of the Week for the week they are submitted? For example, if TribbsHD wasn’t chosen the Monday after it was released, am I out of luck?

Just wondering,
Evan

@emf,
You are not alone.

I had asked Hetal to put up a nominations list, so the devs knew that they were in the running and the criteria / rubrics for the decision.

The app of the week in my opinion is based on the iTunes store results and then if it can do some cool things beyond the standard code published for help and lastly, it should tickle Hetal’s fancy ( I could be wrong on the last one) but if it does, find out what Hetal likes to drink :wink:

I guess it’s like the App Store itself: you just have to hope and pray you’re chosen to be featured, otherwise you wither and die.

Well not exactly, the iTunes store is an ocean, the app of the week is still manageable and influenceable, and like a swimming pool, where you know how things are going and who the players are, or atleast was, good that it is growing.

Maybe there can be a hall of fame that developers can use to promote their app. But if it is accepted by the masses like bubble ball or walkabout, float, etc then even if there was no app of the week/month it would make no difference.
