App rejected by Nook

Ok so i am submitting my app to the nook store “Butterfly Adventures” and they rejected it due to this:

[lua]Files: Rejected:
Your application has links to websites for survyes and other product advertisements.
We do not allow any links pointing to websites other than bn.com.
Please remove the messages/links.[/lua]

The only link i have is on my credits page which goes to our website for “Support” i can easily remove that link.

What i want to know is: What about Banner Ads? Are they saying i can’t use banner ads? I just need to know how much i need to remove before i re-submit the app. [import]uid: 67604 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 320181[/import]

Dude,

You have to buy Corona before you can publish for Nook!

I/we do own several pro licenses of Corona. However I have 2 computers i use my license on at work (a mac and a PC) and I leave it authenticated there. So when I come home and want to work on my code I choose to use a trial version sense I don’t like having to constantly de-authorize and re-authorize my license from work.

This being said. I didn’t look to see what account i posted this message under. My pro license is “team1” when i am at work.

I have hinted in the forums before that being able to authorize 3 computers per license would be appreciated. but as of yet… we are stuck at 2.

So how about my problem/rejection? Do you know if Nook allows for banner ads? or do i need to rip them out of my app? [import]uid: 67604 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 78815[/import]

Nook doesn’t allow Ad’s

Hello there,
Since we are talking about Nook and B&N, I was wondering how long does it usually takes to get an approval/rejection for a BarnesNoble Nook Developer account? I have applied about 2 weeks ago, and still haven’t heard anything. Is there anything, or someone I need to contact to see what’s going on?

Please help.

Thanks [import]uid: 75258 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79003[/import]

Are any other platforms as tightly controlled?
I have built an on-line instruction manual for my upcoming app, and another page for sample files that can be downloaded to the documents folder.

Is this allowed by Apple, for instance?

Well when waiting for my nook account (banking information to be approved) i just found out by logging into thier site and checking one day that it was approved. I never got a email saying i was approved.

As for my app. heh. its been rejected 3 times (happens when i don’t actually have the device to test on and… its the first time i have tried to release anything for the nook. however these app rejections have happened pretty quick. the longest one took 3 days. the shortest one took… 8 hours… [import]uid: 67604 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79035[/import]

Thanks rgleason! When you say “logging into their site” where exactly? I know this maybe a dumb question, but it seems like their developer site is kinda confusing… Right now, I have just tried it, I am able to login and get to the http://nookdeveloper.zendesk.com/home, and I see that I am logged in fine, and I have the welcome message on the right etc…

But, again, where and how do I get the instructions/ code permission so that I can start using my nook to debug and all that stuff? I am sorry for asking too many questions, but I have been stuck on this for a while now and no where do go.

Thanks in advance [import]uid: 75258 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79043[/import]

The place I log in to to submit an app is here: https://nookdeveloper.barnesandnoble.com/sign-in.html

Then I click on account and then applications

Before you can add a app it will force you to fill out your company information and bank info. It will then make you wait until they approve that info before you can add a app. For me this part took about 3-5days since I didn’t get a email saying they approved my bank info.

As for testing your app on your nook before trying to release it in the store… I don’t know… I don’t have a nook yet… But getting rejected 3times now says… I have to find the cash for one…

I saw another thread that talked about how to test on a nook.
Er this is rgleason. Just on my work account [import]uid: 88147 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79050[/import]

It took ages to get approved for nook, and like others I had just about given up and I checked one after not checking for 3 weeks and I was approved, my app christmas fire was up and approved within 4 days, not a complicated app but I didn’t have a nook to test on so I had my fingers crossed. It’s actually did ok, it more than paid for my pro license twice over just on the nook. [import]uid: 8697 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79060[/import]

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I will just have to patient and wait. It’s just bizarre that there isn’t any notifications (emails…) to let the developer know of what’s going on with the review process.

Oh well, I guess that’s how it goes

Thank you, again. [import]uid: 75258 topic_id: 20181 reply_id: 79079[/import]

I just released paid apps so far due to my concerns about the ad restrictions. You can’t control the links put into ads, and I suspect the majority of them will link to the Google Android Market which Nook users can’t reach.

I posted a number of other gotchas that can get Nook QA to bounce you (a few that I found out the hard way):
