App Rejection: KIDOZ

Recently I did an update for my kids app and integrated KIDOZ into it. Dunno if this is just bad luck but when it was in review a couple of Disney videos popped up in the video feed.

So… rejected because "Your app includes content that resembles Disney/Pixar material, Disney, without the necessary authorization."

Anyone have this issue? I emailed KIDOZ to find out what to do and just waiting to hear back.

That doesn’t sound right.  Did you write Apple a response and say they were ads?

I haven’t yet. I want to tread lightly and make sure I’m doing the right thing first. Still no response from KIDOZ so I might just have to let Apple know that it’s the advertising network that displays that stuff and cross my fingers that my reviewer is in a good mood.

When Apple has a human review your app, you have no idea how experienced that reviewer is, what “guidelines” they take more to heart than others. For instance, the guidance could be “Watch for copyrighted information”. That may not translate into “except for ads”. Generally asking the reviewer more questions and letting them know that your app shows kid friendly ads, but itself has not Disney content may be enough to get a better second look at your app.

I had the same issue and just submitted a second time and it got approved the second time around. The problem is that some of those Kidoz “ads” don’t look like ads. They look like you are playing some random content from youtube. The content you don’t own.

To me, Kidoz is one of the most disappointing services I have ever tried. I was so excited at a kid-friendly ad network only to find they seem to advertise the same apps everybody advertises with a more kludgy implementation.

If you purchased AdMob plug-in the Kid/Family friendly settings are a much better option (my humble opinion).

Were you able to get your app approved?I am in the process of using KIDOZ ad for my kids app and I do see some videos getting played without parental gate! is that ok?
