App store approval, but I just found a bug and want to hold off!

This is my first app, and I need advice…
I just was approved on this app about 10 minutes ago, my release day was et to May 24…

I found a bug, and need to upload a version 1.1 before version 1.0 ever goes live.

I already uploaded the new version but have read on some forums that you are not allowed to put a new version up before the first version goes live?!
Can anyone clear this up for me…

Right, you have to have a live version to update. If you want to fix the bug before you launch you will have to reject your binary (ouch), fix 1.0 and resubmit. [import]uid: 40033 topic_id: 26369 reply_id: 106904[/import]

Thanks Fava,

Not sure what to do.
What is going to happen to the update I already submitted 1.1 just now.

Will they review and approve it, but just not let it go out?

I don’t actually even see how to reject this binary anymore. That option seems gone from my options now that the product is ready for sale…

Thanks! [import]uid: 106593 topic_id: 26369 reply_id: 106908[/import]

If the product is ready for sale, you should be able to add a new version in iTunes Connect. The update will require approval. Hope that helps! [import]uid: 47722 topic_id: 26369 reply_id: 107726[/import]

There is no quick ‘pull this from the store’ button that I can find.
But you can go to the country restriction and remove all countries, at which point iTunes connect will remove the app.
If you let it go §out there with a bug, you will get the obvious feedback, and its happening now.
It will be a week of buggy sales before an update will hit the store.

I think you are better pulling it and then relaunching, even with a new app id.
Then you get the ‘new app’ kudos and none of the ‘this is rubbish’ feedback.

@lwat4ever FYI : you could also ask an Expedited Review from Apple explaining them about the *Critical Bug* you found in your app and so requesting them the Expedited review regarding the Bug Fix you`ve done and is about to release.

PS: I`ve done this a week ago and they took exactly 1 (one) day to review and release the bug fix out there (I mean the new version of my app wiuth the bug fixed).

PS2: But be sure that if they do accept to review it, you`ll have to wait a “long” time to ask them about the same thing again, be advised.

PS3: You can go to ask them about the Expedited Review by this oficial link: https://developer.apple.com/appstore/contact/appreviewteam/index.html
