App Store Enrolling Your Company

I would appreciate any help from anyone who is familiar
with what is needed to enroll with apple as a company
and not an individual developer.

I plan to start my own company to develop apps for
apple with corona I will be the only worker in my company
I just don`t want to use my legal name.

Any help is greatly appreciated and I know it depends
where you live but if you can point me in the right direction
I will be very thankful.

What is needed to start your own company so you don`t
use your legal name?

Do you just go to your local city hall and open a company
as a software developer?

Do you need any insurance or permits?

Do you need a business bank account to link your business with
or you can use your personal bank account?

All help with be greatly appreciated and hopefully this post helps
out anyone who wants to start there own company and develop
using CORONA! [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 307251[/import]

Don’t know where you live, but incorporating as an LLC is the most viable option. In California, any type of incorporation is about $900 a year + additional costs. I know in Florida it is like $50 to register a company.

You can also look into DBA’s.

Thanks Carlos for the response, I live in Nevada and I just
wanted to be pointed in the right direction because I tried
online resources and cant find much on where to start,
If I do LLC I have to say i`m registering a company under

@ eng.tareqali

Thanks man This is what I did so far I found out few weeks back
forming an LLC (which is usually best approach) will take in Nevada
around 2-3 weeks and apple about 3-4 weeks to approve the paperwork
so I decided to sign up as individual but use a different name as a publisher
then seller name (me). So I Submitted my 1st app to apple on 21st still no
reply is under review and once any of my app become some what successful
(hope so) I will form an LLC and after all LLC/Apple Process is completed
I will transfer my games from individual to my LLC company which I
believe is about 4-5 days with apple game goes off sale and then is put back
up but under your LLC. So thats whats going on atm im currently working
on my 2nd project and I will be sharing with corona when my games are
approved and hopefully you guys enjoy them!

I have about 3months learning/programming I dedicated many hours
into learning. Some days I studied 18hours was a very hard path
but thanks to Corona and everyone who helped me in forums
I finally learned, Im still new in some topics but I catch on quick and learn pretty fast now that I have somewhat experience in programming and corona. My 1st app took over 20,000 lines of codes which im hoping to receive any moment a response from
apple which I submitted my app the 21st. Anyhow that`s pretty
much my experience atm but if you wish to get in contact with
me you can always email me at leivagames@gmail.com Thank You.

@kurosaki88

You said that you have signed up using a different name than yours to be visible as the “seller”. How did you do that?

I have registered as an individual too but I don’t want my name to be visible at all in the AppStore. Is this possible and how?

Many thanks in advance!

@ Magenda

I researched that question many times too as I was not sure if to sign as
individual or company (and company requires many steps legally and much
more time consuming to be approved) anyhow from all research I found and
I cant confirm this yet since my app is still under review and until I see it for
sale and which name shows then I cant confirm this but here goes. From all the research I did and self experience this is what happens when you sign up as individual with apple you will be asked many question like name address phone number ect but right before you send your 1st app when you follow all the process they ask you to choose a name to publish your app and the name cant be change once chosen. So basically your name as individual will show as seller when you go to Itunes ect but is a small name on left side I believe right next to the app but the main name of who made it is the fictional name you choose right before you send your 1st app. so Publishing name is different then your sellers and thats it :). once my app is approve ill confirm this 100% but so far I have done enough research and Believe thats how it works
I already chose a name so I think thats the one will show up as publisher.

Here is an example I checked many apps to see if this was true and it seems
it is for example go to corona showcase and check random apps and check out
Publishing name and seller name is different even if is individual. The one way
you will find out if its individual is if seller has a person name and not company
name. Hope this helps if you have any question you can always post on forum
and ill try get back asap  Good Luck! [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 29816[/import]

I can see what you mean. But how do we know that the “By” name in the Corona showcase pages is the name of the individual which has been used during the enrollment to the iPhone Developers Program? Maybe they just use a nickname here in the Corona site and the “seller” name in AppStore is actually what they have used during the enrollment. I wish not…

Can anyone here confirm that the “seller” name in AppStore is what you give during the app submission procedure and it indeed can differ from the enrollment individual’s name?

Many many thanks! [import]uid: 7356 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 29821[/import]

@ Magenda

Well if you read in apple developer website you can check forums or Q&A
and they let you know that when signing up your name will show (individual)
as “seller” and if you check for “seller” is different then “By” and if you think
maybe in showcase they using nickname you can always check iTunes itself
and maybe that will show you what you looking for  one of the example I found
was games made by Beebe Games showed “by” Beebe Games and “seller” John Beebe
hopefully my app is approve soon as I submitted it on 21st and ill be able to prove
this 100%. [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 29825[/import]

@kurosaki88

You just want the “seller” to be different from the “publisher”. From what I understand this is doable and you will be fine.

On the other hand, what I am looking for is the “seller” to be different from the individual’s name (the surname he used to sign up). Specifically I would like to use something like “Magenda Studios” for both the “seller” and the “publisher” and my personal name to be invisible to the public (not anywhere in the AppStore). Do you think that this is doable too? [import]uid: 7356 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 29895[/import]

@ Magenda

I dont think is possible unless you sign up as a company then your company name will show up as seller, but while doing whole bunch of research I came across few forums were people said that was possible if you had a "doing business as" DBA register in your city/state. Recently I heard that is no longer possible but Im not sure maybe try looking into DBA and signing up with apple.
If not your best approach is maybe starting a company? Good Luck
in your venture and I hope I was of some help [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 7251 reply_id: 29933[/import]

@kurosaki88

Of course you were of great help.
