Hi friends,
Would anyone know what is the criteria used by Apple to put an app in the App Store “New & Noteworthy” space?
Thanks in advance [import]uid: 29154 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 314075[/import]

I think they just hand pick which apps go there. Most likely making an app that’s been done many times over would not get you there, even if the original was. When my game was featured it didn’t noticeably increase sales, even though the feature was in both my categories and in the top 5 which put it on the front page of “new and noteworthy”. It was featured in Canada, Australia and the UK for both iPhone and iPad. [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 51855[/import]
I have 51 entires in N&N in category in various countries for the Paid version of walkabout and 45 for Walkabout Lite.
In my experience it makes no difference to sales. If you get in N&N overall in a big country, thats another story… [import]uid: 8872 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 54913[/import]
true. if your app makes it to the (games) frontpage, sales increase extraordinary, while being noted in a category is not that frutiful.

My take is it that it is pure luck or there is big money involved. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 54948[/import]
The only feature that makes any odds sales-wise is being featured on the N&N frontpage or one of it’s front page subcategories.
Being featured in sections (ie puzzle) makes no odds as the feature list for categories isn’t viewable via device.

My latest app, Animated Knots 3D, just went into New & Noteworthy in the Reference category today. The app was released last Saturday and just fell off the bottom of the bottom section “All Reference iPhone Apps” yesterday, which is ordered by release date. I’ll let you know what, if any difference it makes. [import]uid: 17130 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 55875[/import]
My game went into the “What’s Hot” section for several days, although you would have to press the “see all” link to see it. I’m not sure what constitutes a “hot” app because my sales are very far from it LOL. Based on some comments I’ve been reading on the net, it seems that if you’ve been in the New and Noteworthy section your app will eventually be featured in What’s Hot. Not sure how much truth there is to this. [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 55880[/import]
Danny, I agree. I noticed it too.
But I still would like to know how (base on what) Apple choices the apps to be featured on the N&N and WH frontpages… [import]uid: 29154 topic_id: 14075 reply_id: 55912[/import]
If your app is really trustworthy and its well known among the users … and generate lot of traffic to your site …then der may be chances for your app…
