App store rejection help

I have submitted my app a week ago, and earlier today unfortunately my app got rejected. The reason for the rejection says

“Specifically, we noticed your app does not take advantage of the iOS platform. It would be appropriate to add iOS specific functionality to the application.”

I do not understand what this means, can anybody help me and tell me what this means and what i’m supposed to add or change on my app. Thank you. [import]uid: 132369 topic_id: 28114 reply_id: 328114[/import]

What your app is all about?

PS: Really strange rejection by them.

That sounds so odd - no suggestion here except perhaps ensure that your user interface meets with Apple’s style guide. Would love to know when you get it accepted. [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 28114 reply_id: 113594[/import]

Really strange…

The only thing I can think of (but this is pure speculation from my part) is that your app might ooze an “Android” style in it’s interface and that this would be something Apple does not want to see on it’s own devices. But that’s a long shot. Otherwise they might mean it has too little added value, but that would also seem farfetched.

Do you have any screenshots or description of your app?

Cheers,

I’ve seen this before a couple of times, in all cases it has been with a very basic or gimmicky app OR something that could just be a webview, etc.

It would help to know what the app was about as Thomas mentioned. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 28114 reply_id: 113614[/import]

I am not saying that this is the case here, but I for one wouldn’t mind Apple having a stricter policy regarding the quality and added value of apps - creating a marketplace that is tougher to enter, but would have higher quality apps (that could perhaps demand a price that is a little higher) and less fluff-competitors that ultimately might just discourage people to look further than the few blockbuster games we all know because 90 percent of the content available is substandard.

And once again, I am saying this not to target your app, RSCdev (which I haven’t seen yet) but more as a general point of view on app quality and Apple approval policy which seems to be tightening a bit as of late.

As others have said, Apple is likely to reject an app if its doing nothing more then wrapping up a web view.

Need more info from the original poster to help here, perhaps some screen grabs of the app might help. [import]uid: 33275 topic_id: 28114 reply_id: 113637[/import]
