It becomes available for the App Store within 24 hours of being Approved.
It will then be placed in the App Store in accordance with your release date (specified on submission). So if that date has already passed, it will be there asap. If that date is in the future it’ll be there on that date.

Also, according to developers we’ve talked to recently, the average approval time seems to be about a week these days.
