App works well in the simulator but freezes on the iphone. Thought was something to do with sounds, I turned them off but no luck.

We need a lot more information because we haven’t seen that and no other reports of the problem from others.
Some things are not testable in the Corona Simulator and you may run code on the actual device that is not working.
