My app displays an info-window where a png-file is fetched from the server. These days the png contains info about updating the app manually (if not done automatically). Since the app is released for both Android and iOS it encourages the user to update from either Google Play or Appstore, depending on OS.
The testers at Apple didn’t like the reference to Google Play, so I received this message:
We also noticed that your app contains irrelevant platform information in the app. Referencing third-party platforms in your app or its metadata is not appropriate on the App Store.
So friends, never use the words “Google Play” in your apps or metadata, the people at Apple don’t like competitors
