Apple policy on game limits

Hi everyone,

I thought i read recently that apple does not allow Lite versions to be limited on time, features etc

can someone with experience clarify?

does anyone know if the same applies for score? id rather have the full-featured game available but limit it to x points before they get prompted to upgrade.

thanks

I’m no authority on this, but I have a lite version of OmniBlaster, but I put it up before Apple allegedly changed their policy.

From what I remember, Apple’s goal was to reduce the clutter in the app store and they would much prefer one app with InApp Purchases to unlock features rather than manage two separate apps.

It isn’t so much of a feature set difference as to clutter reduction in the store, if that makes any sense. I also don’t know of any rejections of lite versions, just a preference to use IAP.

Maybe some others can chime in with some later experience.
