I was just wondering if anyone else was going to take advantage of apples new search ads. I searched the forum and didn’t yet find a thread talking about this so I figured I would start it.

I got an email from apple offering me a free $100 to start a search ad campaign… I figured I would give it a shot and see how it turns out. I don’t know if every dev got this offer or if it was something special sent out to a select amount of devs.

I’m actually really excited about the search ads. I think it is really one of the only effective methods for devs with an almost non-existent marketing budget.

Search ads give you the opportunity to show in front of a user who is actually looking for a new app at the time, instead of seeing an ad while playing someone elses ad.

I plan on starting a campaign with the $100 offer I was given probably at the start of next week. I’ll try and give some updates to help other see how beneficial it can be (or not be).

I would love it if others could post some of their experience with it as well.

Yep I got the same offer and am definitely taking advantage of it.  So far have some some small success with Search Ads.

Im curious to know if you set a daily budget and what your max cpt bid is?

I was thinking about trying to stretch the money out over a week or two to check the results

Yes I set a daily budget.  For starters I am testing $0.50 CPT bid.  So far my average CPT is 0.22

is your app a paid or free app?

I released an app on 10/6 and unfortunately it still does not appear in the search ads dashboard… I sent apple an email about it seeing as their FAQ states it should only take about 17 hours to appear.

Once it pops up, i’ll definitely post info about my campaign.
