Can anyone who knows both of these provide any comments about using them in Solar2D and if so, which are easiest to hook into solar2D and which seem to monetize the best?
I am using appLovinMAX since March 2026. Before that I was exclusively using adMob but my fill rates were dropping to around 80% so I decided to try mediation of multiple networks using appLovinMAX.
So far I have no issues with appLovinMAX using banners and interstitials and it was relatively easy to implement once you set up all the networks and placements, however after a few weeks my boost in daily ad revenue quickly regressed back to the same level as it was with only adMob (despite new added networks getting significant traffic).
IronSource Ads requires an approval process to serve ads (not sure about using them for mediation). Originally they denied my request to show ads, after about a month of implementing appLovinMax and showing Unity Ads - IronSource approved my account. (I have not implemented them into my mediation yet).
I’ve used AppLovin MAX before and found it easier to manage than ironSource, with better monetization overall, especially for rewarded and interstitial ads.
For Solar2D, AdMob is probably still the most straightforward option. The plugin is actively maintained, integration is pretty simple, and it’s usually the smoother choice if you’re planning to push updates regularly.
