Are there plans to update Corona's targetSDK version?

One of our apps currently is currently featured in Google Play’s New + Updated Games section. 

Prior to being featured they wanted us to update our app so that it targeted the latest SDK version (24), but as far as I am aware Corona only supports up to SDK 23. Fortunately they were nice enough to waive it this time, but we were told that if we were ever 2 versions behind then this would not be possible.

Are there plans to update this any time soon? Getting an app featured is obviously a huge deal, so if it were not possible due to a technical issue that would be a big problem for devs.

It’s on the To Do list, but I just don’t know when we can get to it. We understand the need to get featured and Google’s requirements and how important that is to you and other Corona developers.

Just as an FYI, it’s not an easy change.

As of Daily Build CoronaSDK 2017.3049 the Android SDK level is 25
