Are there ways to do in app purchase with Corona WITHOUT using iOS or Android services?

Hi,

I was offered to make a game for a local company and but don’t want to put it in Google Play or Apple App Store, at least not now.

Game should have in app purchase but since it will not use those two common app stores, I was wondering that which other ways does Corona support doing such thing, either traditionally or with a plugin.

The more basic the way, the better. For example, if we could send an SMS message and analyze the reply from the phone company, maybe we could do something manually.

I don’t want to do an MMO(!), just want to make a casual game that should utilize in app purchase without regular ways of relying on doing so.

Please let me know what does Corona support and I’ll ask the employee regarding if they can support it as well.

Thanks.

That seems to be what Fortumo’s new plugin is for.  They do IAP for Nook, but they do it for generic Android too.  Google won’t feature your app on Google Play but getting Featured isn’t a common thing.

You can only release iOS apps through Apple’s iTunes app store.  They require you to use their IAP and will reject anything that tries to make money from app sales that they don’t control.

Thanks Rob,

The client said that he is not interested in those app stores right now, so it’s his decision.

Thanks for the suggestion but I’m afraid that won’t do because Fortumo doesn’t support client’s country.

Is there something more low level or via sending SMS or similar methods to do in app purchase?

Thanks.

Without knowing any more details, all I could suggest is that if our existing IAP options won’t work for you, if the country in question has a vendor or way of doing IAP and there is an SDK for Android available, then you would need to use Enterprise to be able to link in 3rd party SDKs.
