audio and iTunes plugin

hi, I have a question about audio best practices. I’m developing a component of my Seven Minutes fitness app that allows the user to pick a playlist from their iPhone’s music to play during the workout. All is peachy. However when I finish one element of the workout (one interval) I play a chime to allow the user to rest between sets. That chime is not audible when the music is playing. What’s the best way to ensure that the chime plays over the music? Should I be setting the chime to play on a specific audio channel, and the iTunes music to play elsewhere (but how?)

The Runkeeper app does this very nicely, as a reference.

thanks,

Jen

Hey!

I would recommend pausing the iTunes playlist/audio, play your chime sound, and in the audio.play onComplete callback you would resume the iTunes playback.

If you need the chime to play over the iTunes audio however, could you email me a small test case (including all needed assets to run it) to danny (at) coronalabs.com and i will check it out. Iirc i was able to do what you require during my testing of this plugin

Hi, Danny, thanks! I’ll do that!
