Audio Permanently Disappears If Alarm Goes Off On Phone

If a pre-set audible phone alarm goes off while in a Corona app, the game audio disappears, and you have to restart the app to make the game audio re-appear. 

Is there a workaround for this, or is it a bug that has to be fixed?

Can you please provide more details? Which Corona build you’re using? Which version of iOS or Android? Which actual testing device?
