Augmented reality capabilities

Any chance to integrate a 3rd party AR plugin in Corona SDK for the future?

I’m referring for example to wikitude plugins for Phonegap and Titanium but not only.

cambioilweb - I’m not very familiar with Wikitude. But if they have a native SDK that developers use in their apps to build it in, then it could be done with Corona Enterprise. I’d also be happy to talk to them about potentially making a plugin for all Corona developers.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply.

My question arose by observing the fact that most AR sdk are developing a plugin for Unity, such as,  for example Wikitude and Vuforia but not only.

We just finished our first app  made in Corona SDK (Gumshoe Tour Assisi), and we are working on a similar app for Rome.

Now we’d like to start to add AR features to our apps in the Corona way: simple, rapid and effective.

We think that the AR world would be strategic for Corona since there are a lot of developers now  approaching to AR (but it is only a personal thinking).

From our point of view, if we find the way to add AR functionality to our apps by using Corona we will be happy to continue to use it. Otherwise we would be forced to start a plan to move away from Corona.

Please let my know your thinkings, and plans about this topic.

Best all,

Maurizio

Understood, thanks for the comments. As mentioned, you could use some of these SDKs today with Corona Enterprise. If you are interested feel free to email me (davidATcoronalabs). I will also look into what it will take to have Corona Plugins for some of these.

And congratulations on putting out the first app with Corona. It looks great!
