Autoupdate of the SDK

Launch the Simulator

it says “Oh, hey, there’s a new version. Would you like to download and install it now?”

Sure i would. (or maybe I don’t - in which case it does nothing)

Downloads and replaces existing SDK.

There should be release versions or a preference to update with the daily builds for subscribers.

Thx.

I would strongly disagree that installing daily builds should be done automatically. Daily builds are by nature flaky and you always want to understand exactly what version you are working with. Also you should be installing daily builds in a separate location while keeping the previous build to test against. I suppose you can always download an older build to fall back to if you find the latest build is buggy, but that’s a bad habit to rely on.

At most you might want the simulator to tell you “hey there’s a new build you can go download” but that seems rather pointless to me. I mean, these are daily builds; just go online for the latest build every day. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 8434 reply_id: 30216[/import]

Yep, I get your point.

I was suggesting that it be optional.

Also, as with other apps that auto-update, you can ignore the current release. It will remind you when a new one shows up.

And since it would be a preference – you could just the auto-check off and check manually.
