Balloon Bounce Help

Hello!
My name is Noah D and I am 10 years old. I have been creating an app called Balloon Bounce and it is not that bad. I was hoping that one of you guys could help me with a few things. I need to know how to make a title screen and also how to make timed levels (so that it moves to the next level after a certain amount of time). You see, the point of the game is to keep the balloon in the air for a certain amount of time (by tapping it) without letting it hit the ground. I need to know how to make it so that after a certain amount of time, it moves to the next level, how to make a title screen, how to make it go back to the title screen if the balloon hits the ground, how to make a scoreboard, and how to make transfers to the next level. Please don’t make fun of me. I am a 10 year old and this is only my second day using Corona SDK. (If you want to know, I am using notepad on my Windows 7 as a Text Editor) [import]uid: 15620 topic_id: 10875 reply_id: 310875[/import]

Hey there Noah,

Good for you!

I can’t help you with everything you mentioned, however I run a website called Techority. (http://techority.com)

There you will find a tutorial about Director (changing scenes/screens, I believe it is called) - that will help you with your title screen.

Next, I have a tutorial there for a scoreboard - it’s a video - short, easy to follow and with a download to go with it.

I hope that helps you with some of it at least

And don’t worry, no one will make fun of you here - and if they do we’ll tell them off

Dr. Rafael Hernandez has a great video tutorial on how to make a simple game that ends when the timer runs out. Check it out here.

You might want to look at the rest of his video tutorials as well since they are all very useful. I would also like to encourage you to keep it up! If you want to make games Corona is a great way to start. I’ve been trying to get in to game developement for 10 years now, but until I found Corona I just couldn’t find anything that worked for me. It’s great that you’re learning something like this at such a young age. This may sound cheesy and cliche but, never give up. YOU and only you can determine what you can accomplish. And don’t forget to HAVE FUN! [import]uid: 27965 topic_id: 10875 reply_id: 39785[/import]
