Barcode decoder?

Hi,

I was recently tasked with researching the implementation of a barcode generator and decoder app for iOS, Android and Blackberry. Having used Corona for past work, I thought I’d convince my boss that we could use it for this project - until we realised there is no barcode decoding functionality.

Phonegap/ Apache Cordova has a plugin for this, but I would prefer to use Corona. I also noticed that this feature has been requested several times on forums, going back to 2010. When can we hope to see something done about it?

I think he meant support for it in corona so we can have scaning in our apps.

Although this is old I want to bump it up as it is a common request to have 1D (barcode) and 2D (qrcode) code support.

There is an iOS port of googles zxing library so I think this shouldn’t be too difficult.

Barcode scanning is a frequently asked for plugin. You should be able to build an app using Corona Enterprise to use the native apps.  I know several people have tried to tackle this for themselves.
