Best emulator to run compiled .apk's on?

Hey all, just started using Corona the other day, (I’ve used lua for a long while), and I do not have a phone enabled with android… So I am looking for suggestions on fast, free, emulators that can run my .apk’s on them. I have downloaded GenYMotion, but everytime i go to run my apk on there, it says “Unfortunately [appname] has closed”… Any suggestion to a fix for this, or ideas for other emulators would be much appreciated

I’ve always found the Corona-provided skins are as suitable a replacement for my actual device as I’m going to get. Nothing can replace actual physical device testing.

Maybe I’m not familiar with what features/options are available from emulators, rather than the skins provided by Corona?

Is there a reason to NOT use the Google-provided Android emulator?  (obviously speed can be an issue, but that could hit any emulator)

Presumably Google has a vested interest in keeping their own emulator highly accurate for developers to test/debug on.
