I just started using the Trial for Corona today and was looking for an IDE for use with Corona SDK that also has a Debugger with Breakpoints, Callstacks, Variable watching, etc. I see there is Corona Project Manager, Corona Cider, and Corona Complete, but I know little about these so far. I’d like to get your opinions about which is the best, which has the most useful features for developing and debugging, or anything else about these various IDE’s. Thank you for any input. As the most complete IDE for Corona I would say that Glider IDE (old name was Cider) is the best one at this moment as well as their developers looks to be the most “present” around here always listening and giving great feedback and user`s tips for their customers.
BTW, it`s my own opinion so take this as a simple tip.
Cheers,

Thank you for your quick response. I checked out trial versions of all three and played with them a bit, and so far, I agree with you that Lua Glider seems to be the most robust, as it seems to have to most features as well as has the features I was looking for (Debugger, Breakpoints, etc). I plan on asking some questions about it in its own forum here. [import]uid: 166998 topic_id: 31511 reply_id: 125895[/import]
You welcome and as I know, anything you ask around the forum here regarding their CoronaSDK IDE - Glider, so the developers of M.Y. Developers will get in touch with you asap as well.

I agree with RSC, Glider is a very good product. I’ve tried all manner of IDEs from Glider to Sublime Edit, BBedit and more and for my money, Glider is the best.
It’s fully configurable, the debugger is incredibly useful and the guys at MY are responsive if you have issues.
Also, it’s better with every update.I wouldn’t use anything else these days.

I’ve been working with Corona Project Manager for about a year now.
and in principle it’s very easy to use and helpful. the downside is, that it has has some frustrating bugs/flaws that really can be a flow-breaker.
For instance, one would expect that if you mark some text and type something on the keyboard, the old text would be deleted. In some cases CPM ignores that rule and the old text stays there beside your new text. I like CPM, but this and a lot of other little flaws sum up and result in unnecessary disturbances of the workflow. Updates are coming slowly, too - most of the bugs are not fixed since version 3.0 that came out half a year ago.
I checked out the demo of Cider earlier this year and I liked it. For the next project, I will check out the “sequel” Glider.

I use both and like both, the best feature of CPM is the ( alias ) files so you can have multiple version in your project I use this to help test and publish LITE / free versions of the app.
Although I have now defaulted to Glider as my standard. I do revert back and forth between the two.
Glider - the Code completion is good but can be a flipping pain and gets in your way a bunch when typing - I mean BUNCH.
I wish you could disable or make it only appear like in visual studio with ( ctrl+ space ) when desired.
Glider is a heavier app with java / netbean plug ins and they are trying to make it work for more than just corona.
But CPM - caters to Corona.
But really it all breaks down to personal preference. Try them both…
