Best Route To In App Advertisement

I plan to release first app within 10 days. Am leaning toward ‘free’ with ads in app. If any one can weigh in here on what my best choice may be as far is in app ads; best option with little to no overhead cost and such. Maybe (if you don’t mind sharing; an approx monthly revenue from what ever ad service you used?)

Direct with a network like inMobi?

Thru a service like Lunar Ads? Tapjoy?

Inneractive that is linked with Corona (I understand?) and with Launch Pad?
(which does not seem to have a link as it previously did on the web site here, before it was re-vamped.)
I am assuming in all cases, if a user clicks on a ‘ad’ (banner ad) or otherwise it is recorded by them and some revenue is forwarded to me each month or so?? I assume they then send ‘detailed’ statement via email or such to me?

Anyway, anyone having experience using any of these that can advise the pro or con of any of them, is appreciated!

IDEALLY, IF YOU HAVE AN APP OUT THERE ON IPAD, the title of your app, so I can see it working on a live app

Also looking abit at ad driven apps so hope you get some answeres here

And just so you know, currently there is 10-11 day wait for reviews on app store compared to the 5-6 it used to be. I recently launched and updated and an app and it took 11 days each time. Just so you know if you have planned to launch on a spesific date  If so you might want to try and request a quicker review from Apple. In my opinion Revmob is the way to go to monetize your app…with inneractive on top to make some money too if you get a decent number of downloads.

Watch out for the x/y positioning of inneraactive ads, they are absolute rather than scaled so you must account for different screen sizes…i.e y=370 on iphone, y=1074 on ipad. [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 119949[/import]

I use RevMob and AdMob to some extent. Inneractive is worthless from my experience with it, paid way less than AdMob and was a pain to implement compared to the other two. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 119970[/import]

Thanks. Good to know about the x/y positioning with interactive. Are you able to tell me the title of an app or two that you have out there using these services presently so I can check them out? And, there are no conflicts or issues that you see that occur because you are running Inneractive ‘ontop’ of RevMob?

Thanks also. Are you able to tell me the title of an app or two that you have out there using these services presently so I can check them out? And, there are no conflicts or issues that you see that occur because you are running two of these services ? And I take it, you don’t see any redundancy in using 2 services same time?
Thanks Much

All of my free games use RevMob. On both iOS and Android. Try searching for Domino Dog, Chip Breaker, or Line Bot.

I have not used AdMob and RevMob together in production. However, I had no problem using AdMob banners with RevMob’s full screen ads in testing. I would recommend starting with one ad service. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 119990[/import]

puzzle runner…

I have one last question(s), and I won’t bother you further. I downloaded a couple of the domino dog games (very good by the way)… and I clicked to check out a few ‘free’ games. I downloaded 1 of them. I take it each time someone clicks on the ‘check out free game’ you get something? Do they actually have to download one of the free games for you to get something? and, do you decide when and where that ad pops up? I take it RevMob forces a full screen ad, where as maybe AdMob more banner type? And, finally, on Chip Breaker, the ad for free game pops up, but does not have option to ‘x’ close it and by-pass… do you get flack or issues from users? (obviously it forces them to click the full page ad, but curious if that has any backlash effect) …

otter… curious if you do your own art? If you don’t mind, I would like to discuss buying some of your art, if that interest you … could you send me your email (mine is cyberparkstudios@gmail.com

thanks to both for taking your time to answer. Very helpful. [import]uid: 148857 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 120057[/import]

RevMob gives you 0 for clicks (and that’s the point), but up to several dollars for a single install. An install is defined as the user tapping the ad, downloading the app, and then opening it once. I decide when and where the ads pop-up. RevMob supports pop-ups, full screen banners, and partial screen banners (like the admob ones at the bottom of the screen)

There should always be a close button to bypass the ad. What device and OS version are you using for Chip Breaker? That’s definitely a bug.

I do some of my own art, but the most impressive stuff is done by somebody else. I’ll e-mail you. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 120060[/import]

@cyberpark

I try to do as much of my own art as possible to save costs, but it’s not really my forte and it’s mainly just buttons and other UI bits that I create myself. I will try myself, and if I can’t get it to look professional, I’ll look at sourcing it from somewhere.

I’m not bad at editing graphics though, my Football Logos Quiz and upcoming Band Logos quiz took a lot of manipulation in GIMP. My e-mail is otterstudios@hotmail.co.uk.

I have an account at vectorstock which I think is by far the most reasonably priced stock image site, $1 per credit with a minimum purchase of 25. Most images are 1 credit and are generally of excellent quality - you can download a lo-res version with a watermark to see how it looks in your app before you buy it.

As for RevMob, you get paid when someone installs AND runs the app for the first time. You decide where and when the pop-up appears. If you can generate the impressions, RevMob will provide a pretty steady revenue stream - in my experience nowhere near the $20 eCPM they claim, but still far higher than any banner ad ever would. @cyber

the person must click on and actually install the game, not just download and delete.

You decide when and where the ads pop up. You choose between pop-ups, full page and banners.

If someone downloads and installs the advertised game you get like $1-2*

I have pop-ups after level 5,10,15,20 and a full screen after level 25.

I will probably lose the pop-ups and change them to full-screen on the update.

Ipad 2 version 5.1.1(9B206) I purchased this iPad 2 months ago… I wouldn’t think I would need to upgrade the OS already, but I guess I should look into that. Anyway, thanks for your help.

@Puzzle Runner:
How have you used AdMob in your apps? I remember looking into AdMob and seeing that they only provide the SDK for Objective-C. Do you have a way to use AdMob with Corona? [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 29916 reply_id: 120142[/import]

@Blue Spruce - You’re right. AdMob is not supported by Corona right now, and it took two years of kicking and screaming before they even agreed to work on it (ok getting off topic lol). You’ll need to use AdMediator, which you can get here: https://github.com/deniza/Ad-Mediator-for-Corona It’s not quite as good as an integrated SDK, but it’s as close as you can get.

Hi guys,
i thought i would join the discussion and share some info on a different option! Tapit! Mobile advertising

These ad units are designed to make developers the money they are deserved.

Our initial roll out of these ad units has been in many cases over $10 eCPM.

We have made the integration easy by creating over 10 plugins, including a open source plugin for Corona, makins the integration process simple and seamless.

Additionally, TapIt! offers FREE mediation that enables you to make direct connections to get ads from Ad Networks like InMobi, Adfonic, MdotM, Jumptap, OpenX and much more.

This service is FREE for you to use, and you will make 100% commissions on all your direct deals.

Also, we provide FREE house ads, where you can cross promote your apps, or 3rd party apps to earn revenue on un-monetized ads.

Lastly, get ready for those HUGE Q4 BRAND DOLLARS, as we open up our RTB Marketplace, where Real Time Bidding enabled buyers place ads on your apps in a real time auction.
