Best way to do instant messaging?

Hello,

I have a client who wants instant messaging between an admin app and the clients. What is the easiest way to do this? Anything already available to do this which is not too complicated?

I just spoke to the client and they said the messages do not have to be instant so I can just post the messages on the server and let the app check for new messages every couple minutes and alert them when available. Nothing too fancy is needed!
