Bezier Textures

One for staff to answer… When will we be able to texture bezier shapes???

Seems like a reasonable question to me given alot of 2D games make use of this these days… when creating dynamic terrain or any other random custom shape for that matter

Cheers

Let me ask.

Let me ask.

Hello any news on this? I’m also interested in it, as it would make a lot easier, and less memory, to create levels.

Hello Roby Miracle. Do you have any position about this feature?

I’ve asked engineering but it is the weekend…

I don’t have a position/opinion on this, but it might be something Graphics 2.0 will address… I think that’s what this blog post from Walter is talking about:

But I don’t know what level we are going to support polygons or curves with this feature.  So we wait on an answer from Engineering.

Guys, any update on this? We have 2 games on hold awaiting this feature because it has a huge impact on our level design & creation pipeline. Can someone please confirm if this will be part of the upcoming graphics 2 engine?? We’d really like to put these games into production again, but need an answer before we decide to go the long winded route that corona supports right now. I must add, this is not an unreasonable request, it’s a feature many other sdks support. Thanks

Just to clarify here it is in Gideroshttp://docs.giderosmobile.com/reference/gideros/Shape/setFillStyleAnd it can be tiled/repeated as per answer this thishttp://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussion/1922/shape-texture-fill-not-tiling

Graphics 2.0 is going to support polygons that can be filled with gradients or textures. I’ve not seen anything “curve” specific, but a poly object with plenty of lines can provide some fairly smooth Curves.

I would recommend you visit http://feedback.coronalabs.com and put in a feature request for this specific feature.

Thanks Rob

Have you any idea when we (PRO subscribers at least) will get our hands on Graphics 2.0?

Hi Richard,

Testing and additions to Gfx2.0 continue on a daily basis, so we’re very committed to getting this out to developers as soon as we can. We appreciate your continued patience, and when it’s ready, I’m confident that you’ll be impressed with the features and simplicity.

Take care,

Brent
