blob of paint descending down wall - with graphics 2.0 ?

Anyone with artistic & technical skills able to suggest to what extent Graphics 2.0 can assist with effects.

Take say a blob of paint hitting a wall (or front of users screen so to speak) and then slowing slipping down the wall/glass.

Was interested in knowing what technique/approach one might be able to use to achieve a realistic effect here using Graphics 2.0.   (i.e. current approach I would normally go for would be via images and Particle Candy I guess)

I did something similar with a game I made in Corona when it was first launched. Check the death scene in Alien Horde ( iPhone / free ).

The easiest method it to split the drip into 2. The blob at the end and the bit that makes the long bit.

By scaling the long bit and then positioning the blob at the bottom you can make the effect.

Ok - what about using graphic 2.0 vs images to do this? I guess you could do either equally well with this approach.
