Blobcat - Shoot 'em Up - Dev Diary

Hi there - thought I would make a little development diary showing the work I have been doing on my game Blobcat.

The game is a fairly casual shoot 'em up style thing. I first started working on it over a year ago, and then it sat in limbo for a while with me noodling about with it on and off - then, towards the end of last year, I decided to make a bit more of an effort to finish it.

Would love to get some feedback on what I’ve done so far.

So weird and so cool there Ben. I really like those characters

Looks nice! I love the way the eyes move where you shoot

Love the style!

Thanks for the kind words! Really pleased you’re liking the direction I chose for the art

I know you are in the very beginnings… But I would love it if you changed the format of the level select into more of a map. Even if it is just the numbers looking a little scattered around a bit on an image. That would introduce more ‘story’ elements to this bizarre yet intriguing little game. And probably afford you more attention from media press. Maybe on a few parts you could have a little branching. You could have different types of backgrounds, depending on where the player is on that ‘map’.

Really like this, Very different.

I really like the idea of using a map for the level select. I’m going to have a think about how that would work  Thanks for the suggestion!
