Bold and Italics versions of custom font families

Hi,

i’m having a problem loading the bold version of a custom font family

I have two seperate ttf files installed (normal and bold) but native.getFontNames() only gives me the normal version the family

How can i acess the others?

Somebody else had the same problem a while ago, see this thread:

http://developer.coronalabs.com/forum/2011/09/11/using-italics-or-bold-text-seems-impossible-what-am-i-missing#comment-55275

Is there any update on this issue?

All the best,

jan

EDIT: There seems to be a problem with font names containing spaces on windows too (not in the filename, but in the “native.getFontNames()” name)

iOS or Android? On Windows you will see only fonts installed on Windows, not ones inside project folder

The issue occurs in the Windows Simulator and yes, the family (typeface) is installed and i can use it in eg. Photoshop but i can’t access the indivdual font of the typeface (like italic or bold) in Corona.

I’ve tried it on a mac and there it works.

Maybe the reason is that OSX doesn’t put white-spaces in the font names. Eg. the font name string on windows is “Adobe Garamond Pro Bold” and on OSX it is “AGramondPro-Bold”

The normal “Adobe Garamond Pro” (without “Bold”) doesn’t cause a problem on Windows though, which speaks against the white-space theory…
