BotHeads 2

Hi! We made a new game. It’s a sequel to BotHeads from last year!

I’ll just link this TouchArcade article here as it describes it pretty well

https://toucharcade.com/2018/08/13/botheads-2-release-date/

It releases on 22 august on the App Store. Happy to share as much as possible about the development or how we did something, so just ask away if you have any questions!

Congrats!

Looks interesting. Good job!

You have pretty neat grass and tile edges on your platforms. I’m interested in knowing exactly how you created those edges for the platforms. Did you create two separate polygons and simply add a bitmap stroke on one of the polygons?

Thanks!

The tile edges on the polygons are created using rectangles aligned with the polygon edges. It makes it easy to control the edge height etc.  For every edge on the polygon, we  place a rectangle rotated to align with the edge and fill it with the tiling edge texture (grass or stone etc)To hide the seams we also place a small square rect at every corner of the polygon. I’ve added an image below where the edge rectangles are visible

Drawing two polygons with a bitmap stroke might work as well. Haven’t tried that but sounds like a good idea!
