Brightness intensity range

Hello,

According to this resource, the range for brightness intensity is [0,1]. I’ve noticed that on a few images sometimes having the intensity at more than 1 can make a difference. For example, on the occasional rare image at intensity = 1, there will sometimes be some color still in the image (occasionally when there’s a bit of transparency in the image). When I make the intensity, say 10, the image is made more white in those colored areas at intensity 1. In other words, despite the maximum intensity being 1 in the documentation, intensity levels above the maximum can still potentially make a difference.

I was just curious as to if this is working as expected. If so, is the documented range incorrect? Should the maximum be higher than 1?

Hypothetically, if I gave my images a intensity greater than 1, could there be negative implications?

Thank you!

The alpha channel modules the brightness. For opaque pixels, brightness 1.0 is the white-out point. For any translucent pixels, the white-out point will be higher.
