Bug bounties for fixes and enhancements

I was thinking something about bugs and things Corona users want fixed, changed, enhanced, etc.

We all want our issues fixed as soon as possible - but how to prioritise these fixes?

And how to fund them (nor sure if Corona is open source team or commercial), but anyway, I think resources are limited…

How about bug bounties?

We pledge funds for the fixes we want, when Corona deliver them they collect.

You can escrow with crypto, and I think there are also websites for this kind of thing.

I think it would be a good way to prioritise fixes and enhancements, determine what people really want, get the price mechanism working, incentive alignment etc.

I have actually discussed this very topic with some other Corona users.

For the most part, if I’m not mistaken, most commonly discussed bugs here on the forums seem to be concerned with ad plugins. This sort of bug bounty program wouldn’t work with them as only Corona has access to said plugins.

When it comes to new features (or open source bugs), then this sort of “open source bounty program” would be greatly appreciated. For instance, having the ability to play videos on Windows, extended (and improved) audio library, preventing Corona from suspending/freezing on desktop/HTML5 platforms and many features like them would be in great demand and I have no doubt there would be a fair number of developers willing to pay for them.

The main question that remains, however, is how’d we go about setting up something like this?

I’m ok with Corona themselves collecting the bounty, indeed I was thinking primarily of them… of course if other people can do fixes that would be pretty cool too.

Yea, it’s difficult isn’t it, crowdfunding for software doesn’t seem to exist.
