I am using Text Candy in my apps and have been for some time. I have not updated any of the text fonts since switching to graphics 2.0. I just updated one a couple nights ago. No issue, or so I thought. Normally I do my sim testing in the iPhone 5 skin to always be sure things are where I want them on the longer device. When I switched to the iPhone 4 on the simulator, the text candy was garbled. After checking all iOS sim sizes only iPhone 5 and iPad Retina show the text candy correctly. iPhone, iPhone 4 and iPad are all garbled. My config uses the split setup. Main size is 640x960 for the original iPhone 4 and the split is for the iPhone 5 size.
I thought this very odd and after messing around I noticed that loading the app on the PC simulator that everything was correct (I have my app on drop box using folder with the code/assets).
I updated Text Candy after switching to graphics 2.0. So it no longer uses the old sprite library. After finding no solution to the problem I decided to switch back to my pre-graphics 2.0 Text Candy library that uses the old sprite library. Suddenly all the text looked correct through-out each sim size. This pointed to either Text Candy or the new sprite library having a bug. I believe it is graphics 2.0.
Now my conclusion this bug is with graphics 2.0 only for Mac/iOS comes from these observations:
PC sim looks correct and builds a correct working android version.
Mac sim builds a correct working android version.
Mac enterprise builds a correct working android version.
Mac sim builds garbled iOS version on iPad and iPhone 4.
Mac sim has garbled text on several device skins.
Here is what it looks like on PC, Mac iPhone 5 skin, my iPad 3 (retina) and android devices after building.
This is what it looks like on Mac skins (excluding iPhone 5 and iPad retina) and the iPad.
As I normally do when I notice something odd happening that I feel is a bug, I ask the community if they are observing anything similar. Anyone notice this or similar problem?
