I have the same Issue. on Vista, “Data Execution Prevention” is closing corona, as soon as it starts. A security measure

Issue is in 2076. Thanks

Further update. Crashes at start in Win 8.1

Can you check to ensure that you have the latest opengl driver installed for your graphics card?

Also, if possible can you provide the current opengl driver version installed?

That was the issue. I was on intel 965 driver and it supports only open GL 1.5

For anyone else having this issue, Please go to your system components and check the name of display component.

with Intel, you will have a compatibiility document on their website, showing compatibility of your component with directX, openGL, openCL etc

Thanks

In system Devices, I have Mobile Intel PM965/GM965/GL960 Express Processor to DRAM Controller - 2A00.  Is this the driver? How do I install the latest opengl driver?  THANKS!

There should be a way to get the driver from Intel.   This web page may be of benefit to you:

http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/293982

This is intel document on graphics support.

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033757.htm

If it is a discontinued product, you might not get a recently published driver, I think.

Thanks for your response.  According to the driver update utility, my driver (8.15.10.1930) is current. My problem is that after installing the latest build (2013.20786), the simulator “has stopped working.”  Could there be another problem?

While I avoid using third party applications as much as I could, I did made a compromise on it for checking opengl compatibility. I think your issue must be first checked again opengl compatibility

http://blogs.esri.com/esri/supportcenter/2012/03/15/what-version-of-opengl-do-i-have-and-do-i-have-the-latest-drivers-for-my-system/

as it shows, you will get necessary details.

@rubenmadamba  The graphics 2.0 engine requires opengl 2.0 drivers and higher.

I already update my graphics driver and it work…but too many changes D: Graphics 2.0 Migration Guide

My OpenGL is version 2.0 and the driver version is 8.15.10.1930 which is also current but the simulator is still not running. Since I don’t have any existing projects, I would really like to be on Graphics 2.0.

I have also a same problem on my laptop.

OS: windows 7 ultimate

Processor : Intel® Core™2 Due cpu T5870 @ 2.00 GHz.

My OpenGL is version 2.0 and the driver version is 8.15.10.1930 which is also current

but the simulator is still not running.

Please guide me for run corona build 2013.2076 or later.

Thank you in advance.

For Windows users who cannot get the new build to run, please do the following:

Glew is an extension wrangler for opengl and is capable of providing system/graphics information.  Customers can run the glew utility and send us the log file that is generated to help us determine their hardware support.

  1. Download the glew Binaries for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit OS

  2. Extract the zip folder and in the extracted folder navigate to bin/Win32 for Win32 systems or, bin/x64 for 64-bit OS’s.

Direct Link to sourceforge:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/glew/files/glew/1.10.0/glew-1.10.0-win32.zip/download

  1. Run the utility glewinfo.exe, this will generate the file glewinfo.txt.

  2. Send the glewinfo.txt to Corona Labs, support AT coronalabs.com  along with a brief description of your problem.

@panarabk Can you tell us the make/model of your laptop, as this will allow us to test on similar hardware.

@Bryan01, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Processor : Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00 GHz.

Renderer:  Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator

OpenGL version: 2.0

Driver version: 8.15.10.1930

Direct X version:  9.0c - June 2010, 10.0

Shader Model: vs_4_0, ps_4_0

I ran the corona debugger in the new Corona SDK (Graphics 2)  which opened the simulator but when I chosed a sample project like “Hello World”, that’s when the simulator displayed “(Not Responding)” as shown in the attached image.

BTW, I work not too far from your office so I can gladly bring over my laptop if it will make things easier for all.

Many thanks,

Ruben
