Build for the Nook

Is there a special build that allows this? I am at a complete loss on how I am supposed to test an app and would really like any relevant information.

I have a rooted nook with Quick Installer to allow me to load .apk files from a micro-sd card. I then built a hello word app and instal it. Everything went fine until I ran it and a message appeared stating that “the app is not supported on the device”. Pop-ups seem to work and so does music. Is there something special that must be done? BTW, I have the newest daily build and am using the debug info on the build settings. [import]uid: 38614 topic_id: 17331 reply_id: 317331[/import]

Hi Adam,

I have deleted your dupe thread. Please read the rules; http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2011/05/05/forum-rules-and-guidelines - We like to keep a clean forum :wink:

As to your question, there are a few select developers who are able to build for the NOOK but it is not currently available for everyone.

Sorry about that. I was unsure what the correct forum to post in was, so I tried to check in each. It was not clear to me whether it was a build issue or an error on my part that the android community would have some insight into. I did not intend to spam post, I have just had terrible luck getting a response from moderately vague questions like the one I posted. [import]uid: 38614 topic_id: 17331 reply_id: 65581[/import]

It’s OK - I didn’t see it as spam or anything like that.

FYI you should be able to edit your questions if you need to by clicking on “edit” just below the thread title, I believe.

I just noticed this…

When will we ALL be able to build for NOOK?

If I missed the answer to this question elsewhere, I am sorry for that. But I was just starting to work on making my app Android ready and the NOOK Color is one of the devices I wanted to support…
Thanks
Rob

@Peach
I can’t believe my eyes. :slight_smile: Please, confirm, does it mean official support for NOOK Color and Kindle Fire? [import]uid: 9058 topic_id: 17331 reply_id: 67687[/import]

@Peach

+1 Please.

Thanks

I too am getting “This device is not supported” when I try to launch an app on the NOOK Tablet. I tried both building for Android and building for Amazon/Fire, but to no avail. Suggestions? Help?

I am using build 689.

Also, I have seen mention of a private build for NOOK development. How does one get that? Do I need to have BN email someone at Ansca to make that happen? [import]uid: 39505 topic_id: 17331 reply_id: 68783[/import]

Things have been implemented but not 100% yet. Give it a little longer :wink:

For the “private” building for NOOK, that was open to selected partner developers.

For the Kindle Fire, you should be able to build using .687, although we did have an issue with “trial version” popups. (That is being addressed.)
