Building Apps for Clients

I’m thinking of upgrading to the Basic plan so that I can use IAP, but I’ve just got a question about it before I do it.

I’m going to be building a couple of apps for different clients and I just wanted to make sure that if I build with my Basic account and add IAP to it they don’t need their own copy of Corona Basic (they won’t at any time be touching anything to do with Corona)??

As long as I have their details in the Code Signing Identity box on the iOS build screen it should go through and work with their iTunes Connect account (assuming everything is set up correctly there)??

There are two approaches that I’ve used with clients:

1.  They buy Corona SDK and they deploy my code from their account.  They are responsible for their own developer credentials and accounts.

2.  They create their developer accounts and I bring their credentials into my keychain, and then I can build and deploy as an administrator of their account.  In this case, they don’t need Corona SDK.

Either way works.

Thanks for the info Rob

I’m assuming with approach 1 that they would need the same plan as myself? As if I’m utilizing IAP with a Basic plan and pass the code over to them and they’re on the Starter plan they wouldn’t be able to build the app - am I correct in thinking that?

Hi Rob,

Can you please explain approach number 2 in more detail? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

I’m not sure I can give details.  I’ve only done it a couple of times.  Generally the customer sends you the .cer files, and a .p12/.pem files and you load them into your keychain.  A lot depends on how much control your customer wants to let you have over their account.  There will probably be better information on doing this on a google search than depending on my memory.
