calculating/placing rectangles inside a trapezoid

Hi,

I’d like to calculate the numbers of rectangles (known size) within a trapezoid (known size as well) and place them accordingly. See image:

Does anyone have a good way to do this? I considered calculating the areas of the rectangle and trapezoid and then see how many rectangles fit area-wise. But I would still need to place them in the trapezoid. Can I do this with physics or manually calculating “touch” points?
