I was recently contacted by a potential client who wanted me to create an app that would have the ability to calculate either how far they have gone on a car trip, or how far their total trip should be (according to google maps) so they have a record of the length of their trips on the future. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I know you can calculate the distance as the crow flies using the latitude and longitude, but I can’t tell if it is possible to calculate the driving distance along the roads. Is this possible?
